My Favourite Revision Websites And Apps

Hey everyone hope you’re all having a productive week!

Over the past few weeks I’ve been getting through a hella lot of revision for my GCSE mocks and have found so many useful sites to help me so why not share them right?

1.Get Revising– I friggin live it. I used this website to get an exam timetable and also to get a plan for an essay I needed to write. You can also download and print whole revision packs for certain subjects which is so good! If you sign up for emails, like I do, they also send revision tips for example in the half term holidays which gives you way more motivation to do some work.

2.Memrise– If you’re learning a language memrise is the one. You can use it on your phone on the app and it basically continuously tests you on different key words in the language of your choice-I’m learning german and my teacher will set up a group and then give us words to learn. The whole site is based around flash cards which for me are really effective revision techniques:)

3.Quizlet– I absolutely love quizlet! I’ve been using it so much recently in prep for my child development exam which is in May. It’s again a revision card type app but there are a few different ways to learn them. You can join for free and I TOTALLY reccommend!

4.Socratic– Okay so this isn’t completely a revision app but for subjects like maths and science it’s really helpful. If I’m stuck on a question then on the app you take a photo of the question and it nine times out of ten will give you the correct answer with workings. I don’t know how many times I’ve used this app to get through my maths homework! 😉

Thanks for reading, let me know if you have any go-to revision sites as I would love to check them out!

Update // I’m back!

Hey guys! It’s been a good few weeks of not posting or being active in general-oops. I’ve been SO busy recently and today’s post is gonna be all about what I’ve been doing the past few weeks mixed in with some photos.

Skiing in Bankso, Bulgaria

About three weeks ago I went on my first ski trip with my friend and her fam and it was amazing! Of course being a beginner amongst a group of pros was really difficult but I had three private lessons and after that I was able to parallel ski down the very top of the mountain with my friend and honestly, I was so proud of myself 😂. Looking back at it now I just wanna go back! We also went to some really cool hot natural hot pools which were so fun too.

Spending time with my cousins

This doesn’t sound all that exciting but my Aunt recently had another bub and I just love to hang out with them and have cuddles! They came down from London to Devon when I got home from skiing so I spent a few sunny days with them, walking on the beach, having lunch out and buying the CUTEST, pinkest clothes in a baby shop. Lol.

Revising for My Mock Exams

Ugh.Ugh. I’ve had such a stressful two weeks full of revision and looking forward to another. It is really good prep for my real GCSEs but it’s really time consuming and boring😂. I’ve had three exams now and have five more so as you can tell I’m just buzzing! I’ve basically been studying everyday after school and at the not-so-fun-anymore weekends, hoping for some good grades to come out of it😁

Writing my draft for the junior Orwell Prize

So there’s a writing competition that our school really gets into, a poet even came for a day to prepare and talk about the competition with us and so for the past couple of weeks I’ve been putting together my piece based on the theme of truth and lies. I finally finished it last night- yay another thing off my list- I’m not sure it’s the best thing I’ve ever done but as a draft it will do! The competition also leads on to a possibility of a trip to Oxford University so I, really hoping I get to go:)

Ten Tors Training & Silver Duke Of Edinburgh

So if you don’t know, Ten Tors is a really intense walking competition that happens in Devon every year. You have to walk for two days, tackling 10 MASSIVE hills- I can’t wait😶. The training has been quite good though and the walks can be surprisingly fun, they’re every Saturday and beat allll the energy out of me (walking for 7 hours straight would do I suppose!) I’m also working on my Silver DOFE, I began my physical side of it but I’m really stuck on what to do for my volunteering work ugh- if you have any ideas let me know:)

Writing my prefect application for head of house

In our school, year 10s have the opportunity to take up a prefect position and I’m going for the head of my house which is probably one of the biggest ones apart from head girl so no sweat😅. Obviously I want the role but the one thing about it that scares me is reading the daily bulletin of our school in front of like 200 people in assembly ahhhh. Oh well I’ll get over it. Hopefully.

Reading the hell out of the millennium series-“Girl with the dragon tattoo”

OMG. I HAVE FOUND MY LOVE. I absolutely love this book series, I’ve read the first two books and now onto my second and have fallen in love with the character of Lisbeth Salander- she is the most interesting, intelligent, amazing character everrrrr. If you’ve read nay of the books, let me know!!!

So yeah my weeks have been quite busy, which I do love! I’m not sure how much blogging I’m going to be doing in the next couple of weeks but of course I will try my best, I hope you’re all doing well and being productive, if you’ve even got to the end let me know what you’ve been busy with recently!

Thanks for reading,

January Favourites

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing great, I just realised January was over, like the first month of 2018 has already gone! I feel like a got a lot done in January and made lots of memories so overall for me it was a really good month! I also have a few favourites from January which I thought to share with you guys:)

Ecotools Eye Enhancing Set – 2 piece set

So I got these brushes as a Christmas gift from my dad and omg I love them! Not only are they vegan and generally quite natural they are the softest things ever! They pick up eyeshadow really well and apply nicely. I don’t know exactly how much mine were but I think they were around £5 for both.

Pastel purple Sharpie Highlighter

This is the most random favourite ever but I LOVE THIS PEN SO MUCH! As I have with most of my stationary, I found the pen on a table at school and thought I’d pick it up😂 I’ve been looking for some nice pastel highlighters so this one was perfect. I use it mostly for making super cute revision cards and notes, all I’m hoping is that I don’t run it out anytime soon!

Black Pull and Bear puffa jacket<<<
cked this coat up in Westfields, London when I was visiting family for New Years, ohhh it's a gem! I was looking for one for agesss, and seeing as I can't afford a north face one I picked it up and fell in love 😂 it was £30 in the sales down from £35 I think and it goes with everything!;) Ps. Sorry about the bad quality of the photo! (Obvs isn't me!😂)

Black North Face jacket On the topic of clothing, I’ve been loving this jacket. I wear it to netball, to school, to town, out walking etc it just fits with everything. It was originally my mums but she doesn’t wear it anymore so I thought I’d borrow it for the long term;) I have no idea how much it was as it was bought so long ago!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo -Book I started reading this book about 2 weeks ago after giving up reading another book which I just couldn’t get into. I’m on like page 120 or something so not very far in but it’s getting so good! It was a recommendation from my sister (it’s her favourite book) so I’m giving it ago. Like always let me know if you’ve read it:)

Zoella Beauty- Gelateau Perfume Omg it’s so gorgeous! It was another gift from Christmas and I’ve used it everyday since.

Taylor Swift’s New Album- Reputation Ugh it’s so good. My fav song on the track is probably ‘this is why we can’t have nice things’ and you should all listen to it😂

So that’s a majority of my faves this month, I’ve left a few things out but I’ll just add the, into another Favourites some time. I hope you all have a great weekend, I’m getting ready to go skiing in Bulgaria, so exciting!

What have you been loving in January? Tamsin xx

My Trip To Uganda

Hey everyone, hope you’ve all had a very productive week! I’ve had a great week as I travelled up to London mid-week to see my gorgeous new little cousin- I’m in love!

Anyway the purpose of this post is to spread the news of my upcoming charity trip to Uganda, where I’ll be staying at Kira Farm development centre doing some work out there like making pottery etc. I’ve set up a justGiving page if you would donate as it would mean SO MUCH to me.

I’ve previously touched on this subject in earlier posts of mine but it’s one of my new year’s resolutions to raise the money (£2000) so I thought I’d get on it and write this post.

In short, in October Im going on a school trip to Uganda for 2 weeks with the charity Amigos. Me being me, i’ve set myself the challenge of raising the whole £2000 myself when the reality is that a majority of the other people going will get there parents to pay.

Whilst being out there we’re also going to a game reserve and getting to see wild animals in there natural habitat, which I personally think will be so incredible!

Another challenge this trip is testing me on is my confidence of being so far away from home and my well-known surroundings so I’m really pushing myself out the boat here! Yet another one of my new year’s resolution haha.

It would be SO appreciative if any of you could take the time to just donate a small amount towards the trip! If any of you have ever done anything like this before or are planning to in the future please let me know as I would love to hear about and support your journey too! I think blogging is a really great platform to spread the topic of fundraising, so why not make the most of it?

Thank-you so much for reading!

New Years Resolutions

Hey everyone, I was wondering what to write for this weeks post and it suddenly dawned on me that I haven’t shared my New Years resolutions yet and it’s nearly February (kinda)! So here they are, I’ve got quite a few as I did last year as I like to set myself lots of goals!

1. Push myself out of my comfort zone.

I’ve got lots of things booked already for this year that are out of my comfort zone, like going skiing and to Uganda for two weeks etc.

2. Read at least two books a month

I love to read but I never have much time so that’s what I’m focusing on this year!

3. Fundraiser at least £1500 for my trip to Uganda.

4. Get my YouTube channel going

5. Keep this blog going!

6. Get off my electronics and studyyyy

7. Do some charity work

8. Start being more body confident

I really need and want to do thisssss

9. Become an organ donor/ donate blood

I’ve wanted to do this for years but have never actually done it so why not try this year?

10. Try out lots of revision techniques as possible.

Im going to be studying a lot this year so I want to vary my techniques and so far I’ve been enjoying trying different methods out.

So they’re my goals, we’re well into January now and I seem to be keeping up with them, let me know how you’re getting on with your resolutions if you have any and thanks for reading!

My 2017 In Photos

Hello everyone, Happy new year to you all! I’m hoping you’re all starting the year off well and keeping productive, today I’m going to showing you all a photo or two for each month of 2017, some are of landscapes and places I’ve visited, some are of friends and family, and meeee:)

January

In January I was very into taking photos, as part of my Duke of Edinburgh award and as part of my enjoyment. This was on a hill near where I live, and you can see a majority of my town from up there.

February

Again very into photography, with some family friends we went into a tunnel near the beach, and spun some lit wire wool to take really cool light trails. It was soooo cold when we were doing this that afterwards we had a fatty hot chocolate in the pub!

March

I took this photo whilst I was walking to my Nan’s house for Thursday night dinner. I have no idea why but this is one of my favourite photos I’ve taken, and I’m pretty sure I took it on my phone:)

April

May

May was one of my favourite months, as it was when I met one of bestest friends and also my German exchange, Julia!

June

Well, June was full of lots and lots of walking. This was one of my Duke Of Edinburgh award walks and it was the most disgusting day ever, nevertheless we survived.

July

July was one of the best months for me as far as travel goes, I was lucky enough to visit Disney world in Florida, and explore other places in the state (also find out that I’m going to be a cousin again- I cried lol) but I also got to visit Lake Constance in Germany on a German exchange, this was also a month of stepping out of my comfort zone and lots of positive things came from itttt.

August

Ugh take me back to August! This month was packed full of beach days and sunsets, and spending a hella lot of time with friends (they’re behind the lens).

September

I took this photo during a picnic for my Grandma and Grandad’s anniversary and now whenever I look at it, it reminds me of scoffing jam and cream scones and taking lots of family photos:)

October

This isn’t my favourite photo at allll, but I think it’s cute so. This was at Centre Parks and boy do I love that place! This month was so good and I celebrated my birthday which is always good!

November

November was a month of not much at all. I did a coastal walk with my best friend which was surprisingly really fun, and beautiful.

December

Firstly, if my sister saw the first photo she would kill me as she said she looks like death. But other than that December was jam packed with family stuff and also finishing up sports for the season, for the last football session, we dressed up and did lots of Christmassy themed games- alwayssss fun!

Finished. That was my year. There were so many more photos I wanted to add, but I had to restrict myself, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, happy January!

The Top Things I’ve Been Enjoying This Christmas

Hey everyone! I haven’t spoke to any of y’all for so long! I’m back at it again, post school and end of term assessments, I can finally get back to doing things I love like writing on here:)

I hope you’re all having a great, cosy December I definitely am, and in this post I’m going to tell you all what I’ve been loving.

Going to the cinema

Pretty much everyday where I live, the weather is rainy and grey and I’m always stuck on what to do and what to fill my time with, so as there’s been loads of good film releases recently I’ve been going to the movies with friends and watching them. I get all the snacks that I can afford (anyone else think the cinema is getting WAY TO OVERPRICED) and relax really. Funny thing, I’m actually going to watch Pitch Perfect in a few hours- I can’t wait! If you’ve seen it let me know what you thought;)

Baking

Gingerbread cookies ecspecially.

Reading late at night

Now that I don’t have to get up early for school, I’m going to sleep later and later, part of the reason being that I get SO stuck into my book I can’t put it down! I’m currently half way through reading The Girl On The Train and I’m enjoying it, waiting for something more tense to happen though;) and anyway I’ll say to myself, I’ll read for 5 minutes and boom an hour later, at midnight I’ll still be reading in bed. I can stop myself.😂

Looking for presents<<<
m always asks me what I would like for Christmas, And as usual I start off thinking that there's not much I want, then when I start searching I'm like WOW, mum you're going to be broke! Joking. But there’s something really relaxing just scrolling on websites or mooching in shops, looking for future possessions (that sounds SO materialistic lol). Although I’m not going to lie to you, I have seen stuff that I love and end up just buying for myself anyway:)

Eating tons of chocolate and shortbread <<<
I just love shortbread so I eat it. And I also love celebrations and chocolate logs so I also eat that too. But like why not it's Christmas?!?

There are all the major things, not forgetting to mention hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows) and cups of tea ( I'm British af). Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great Christmas/holiday💗

Personal Chat #2

Hey guys sorry for the lack of post last week, I was super busy as I am this week too, Christmas is always a pretty stressful time at school as there is so many end of year tests ugh! But anyway there’s one thing that’s been on my mind recently and that’s starting a YouTube channel.

YouTube is a great way to get yourself out there in the world and to have fun at the same time, but it comes with its negatives. I feel like I wouldn’t be able to put 100% in because of all my school commitments and school is a priority at the end of the day but I want to do something different Yanno?

Another issue is that if anyone at school found out they would make fun of me like alllll the time, and I know I shouldn’t care but I do. I could keep it a secret I suppose at first but IDKKKK !!

I also love being creative (even if I’m not very good at it😂) and to express that as a video I think could be really fun but the reality is that probably no one would see my videos anyway so is there actually any point?

I guess you would learn over time but how do you get a sleek looking channel and beautiful thumbnails? Like I’m serious. I’ve tried so many apps which have all got me either hella confused or just haven’t worked properly:(

So yeah, PLEASE LEAVE ANY TIPS OR ADVICE SOWN BELOW! You guys always give great advice, I’ve been thinking about this a lot, a lot so let me know what you’d do in my situation. Thank youuuu so much and hope you all have a great rest of your week:)
